Shooting Range Manager

The training to become a shooting range manager teaches the knowledge and skills for the safe and responsible execution of all tasks that a shooting range manager at the police must master. From starting up and keeping the shooting range facilities and structural installations operational, to maintaining contact with users and technical staff.

This course is only suitable for government employees. The training to become a shooting range manager focuses on teaching knowledge and skills necessary for the safe and responsible performance of all duties included in the job requirements of a shooting range manager at the police. The training trajectory is based on the entry level of the participants and the learning objectives needed for the role.

A modular setup makes it possible to incorporate individual learning units into other courses, such as the newly established training for Weapons Room Manager at the police. The target group consists of police officers appointed or already working as shooting range managers, pre-screened due to handling firearms and ammunition.

The learning objectives include knowledge of legal frameworks, safety protocols, weapon technology and maintenance, and the Exact software for the registration of weapons and ammunition. The skills taught include safe handling of firearms, actions in shooting accidents, and conflict management.

The training consists of 17 learning units and 5 contact days, supported by study counselors, instructors, and guest instructors. Practical shooting instruction at a shooting range is an integral part of the training, as well as a training book for self-study. After the training, participants can regularly apply the material in practice, with feedback from experienced colleagues.

The trajectory ends with a final exam to obtain the certificate.
