Security Officer (Basic)
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the security profession and is intended for those who want to start a career in security, but is also valuable for any security professional who wants to refresh their knowledge. The course is based on the principle that security is proactive by definition. The course covers topics such as the roles and responsibilities of security, the different types of security measures, communication and observation techniques, making a threat assessment and conducting a security interview. After completing the course, participants will have the basic skills and knowledge needed to function effectively as a security guard and to approach situations in a professional manner.
Our courses are structured in units of learning that offer a flexible structure. Each unit of learning can be followed independently and fully completed knowledge and skills, but can also be combined as part of a broader training program. The course is structured in a standard set of units of learning that together form the training formats.

Simon
Security SpecialistSimon began his career in the protection of high-risk objects. For over twenty years, he has applied proactive security methods, physical security measures, and counterintelligence knowledge. In 2012, he was invited to teach Security Questioning, Proactive Threat Assessment (predictive profiling), Quality Assurance, Krav Maga, and more to various clients, including government organizations and private individuals. Simon is fluent in both Dutch and English.
Martijn
Education SpecialistMartijn is a cognitive psychologist and educational scientist with experience as a university lecturer in psychology. He has conducted research on the cognitive effects of stress in military personnel. In addition, he is an active firefighter and has contributed to the development of Dutch fire service education. Since 2016, he has also provided training in (military) self-defense. His passion lies in developing and delivering high-quality education for emergency services and defense, combining academic expertise with practical experience.
After completing the training, you will receive a certificate. The certificate is valid for 1 year. After this, it is possible to extend the certificate by means of a recertification training.
